Founders, Leo and Barbara Guidotti, along with other individuals directly involved in the care of the Mentally Retarded, created CARHís non-profit charity to provide assistance to the Mentally Retarded and Handicapped.

For over 30 years, grants have been awarded to individuals requiring equipment and services not provided by governmental or community agencies.

CARHís philosophy that the community should make a difference in the lives of the Retarded and Elderly is accomplished by building a bridge through donations, gifts, fund-raising activities and volunteering.  Thus, C.A.R.Hís success is attributed to the communityís generosity and support.

In Memory Leo Guidotti

CARH, Community Assistance for the Retarded and Handicapped was founded by Leo Guidotti and his wife Barbara in 1972. On July 16th, 2003 Leo Guidotti passed away peacefully. Leo's dedication and compassion for the Mentally Retarded and Handicapped is the heart of CARH

January 11, 2004 CARHís Family and Friends gathered at C.AR.H's main office in Castro Valley, CA to dedicate a fountain to the sadly missed Founder and Executive Director.
